Falcon Heights council approves consent agenda, announces community events; no public forum speakers

The Falcon Heights City Council on June 10 approved routine agenda items and heard staff and commission updates.
The consent agenda, approved 4-0, included general disbursements, payroll and wire payments through early June; Ordinance 26-056 amending Chapter 109 concerning parkland dedication; resolutions accepting a donation from AARP Tax-Aide and authorizing a Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Act grant agreement for Fairway Commons; and Pay Voucher #3 to New Look Contracting, Inc. for the Community Park Improvement Project. Mayor Gustafson moved to approve the consent agenda; the motion passed 4-0.
Council and staff announcements covered commission schedules and community events: Planning Commission meets June 23; Falcon Heights Night at the Goldstein Museum of Design is June 18; the Lawn and Garden Tour is July 18 and garden sign-ups close at the end of June; the Philando Castile candlelight vigil marking the 10th anniversary is planned in early July and parking has been arranged in State Fair lots to aid attendance; the Community Park improvement project is nearing final completion with a targeted soft launch at the Ice Cream Social. City Administrator Linehan also announced the city’s new website (falconheightsmn.gov) with a notifications sign-up feature.
The community forum drew no public speakers. Councilmember May moved to adjourn and the meeting ended at 8:07 p.m.
