Falcon Heights commission to prioritize waste and water goals as CAC monitors former golf course development

City staff presented candidate tasks from the Climate Action Plan that the Environment Commission could begin and finish this fall, and commissioners agreed to prioritize waste management and water/wastewater workstreams.
Staff Liaison Myhren highlighted a set of climate action goals for commissioners to consider taking on later this year. Chair Adam Keester, who also serves on the Community Advisory Committee (CAC), said he will explore plan options that could be targeted to any future development of the former golf course.
Keester reported that the CAC has not received a formal development proposal for the former golf course and said he will relay CAC discussions and updates to the Environment Commission to help align planning and environmental considerations. Commissioners did not take a formal vote on specific CAP tasks during the June 8 meeting.
Council Liaison May separately briefed commissioners on multimodal transportation grant opportunities and noted the Metropolitan Council is studying Larpenteur Avenue across Ramsey County, which may inform future transportation and safety projects in Falcon Heights.
