During the Jan. 21 Juneau Fire Department meeting, members reviewed upcoming trainings, equipment status and several operational items.
Under Communications and Training, the department noted the Moraine Park spring class list is available and that RTF training with Warner Beaderman is to be scheduled. A traffic-control and scene management session is set for Feb. 23, 18:00–22:00 at the CLR fire station. Training material will include video modules (named in the record as "My Dying Breath" by Billy Goldfeder) and a February session listed as 'Alliant.'
In public comment, Mark Franz of Air One provided vendor pricing to inform possible purchases: the smaller thermal imaging camera listed at $1,300 per unit and a larger model at $3,500. The department noted there is no active fundraising reported at this meeting and asked members to research prices for personal TIC units.
Maintenance and apparatus updates included a note that the breathing air compressor needs inspection or repairs and that apparatus 2371 is roughly 75 percent complete in assembly; the department discussed cleaning and reorganizing the mezzanine to accommodate gear and equipment. Lexipol is changing its training platform; make-up training is available online and members will be paid if they complete it on time. The record also instructs members to use paper copies and staple rosters when filling out ESO/Neris paperwork.
