Selectman John Scruton and Pike discussed typical bonding practice (100%–125% of replacement cost) and the board asked staff to return with recommended bond percentages and cost documentation.
Pike also reported pavement prices remain high (he cited roughly $84–$85 per ton) and reminded the board that the town had budgeted $500,000 for paving; the board asked staff to obtain firm state/contract prices and return with prioritized street lists that match likely available funding.
The board approved the $8,950 guardrail contract (motion passed 4-0) and subsequently authorized Jason Henry to sign the contract on the town’s behalf. Selectmen discussed raising the administrator’s signing authority above the current $5,000 in the future but took no immediate action.
