Green River CPA Paul Barber presented the City of Cave City’s 2025 audit during the Feb. 16 special session. Barber said revenue increased approximately 1.4% while expenses decreased about 3.2% year over year; he noted roughly $400,000 of the budget went to road and sinkhole repairs and maintenance.
Drug Task Force Director Ron Lafferty reported on seizures of drugs, money and other property in the area and said this is the first time a DEA office has been established in Glasgow. Lafferty presented Chief Reynolds with a plaque recognizing the chief’s work with the task force.
Barren River ADD Community Development Specialist Matt Pedigo told the council that rebids for the Boys & Girls Club returned even higher than the first bids, increasing the estimated project cost; the minutes record no award or further action on the project at this meeting.
Chief Reynolds also reported a personnel update: a new employee, Blake Gibson, started today. The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
No additional financial actions or appropriations tied to the audit were recorded on the Feb. 16 agenda; the audit was received as an informational presentation.
