Council approves extended-hours supplemental license allowing alcohol sales until 2 a.m. for qualifying licensees

The Calvert City Council approved Ordinance 2025-10, an amendment to the city's alcohol licensing code that allows holders of an MQ1 license or a qualified historic-site license to apply for an extended-hours supplemental license. That supplemental license would permit sales of distilled spirits, wine and malt beverages by the drink between midnight and 2 a.m.

The ordinance reading clarified provisions for daylight saving time (allowing sales to continue to the adjusted hour when clocks change), prohibits slot machines and similar devices on licensed premises, and requires licensees to regulate noise levels and patron conduct to avoid disturbing surrounding areas.
