Planning commission recommends Cave City annex property for KY Industrial Alliance; traffic plan urged

Barren County Planning and Zoning representative Kevin Myatt told the Cave City council on Feb. 16 that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommends annexation of the parcel that the KY Industrial Alliance intends to use.
Myatt said the commission recommends the annexation but cautioned that a traffic plan will have to be developed if Herbert Turner Road is the only ingress and egress for the site. He advised that the traffic plan is necessary to address safety and circulation concerns before the city proceeds with final annexation or development approvals.
The council received the recommendation but did not vote to annex at the Feb. 16 meeting; no formal council action on annexation was recorded in the minutes. Barren River ADD Community Development Specialist Matt Pedigo was present and noted other agenda items, including rebids for the Boys & Girls Club, but the annexation recommendation will require future council consideration and any required traffic analysis.
