Brownsboro Village Tree Board: nine trees planted, MSD grant awarded and Tree City USA reapplication underway

On behalf of the Tree Board, Commissioner Maryellen Howley reported that nine trees were planted in November 2024 and that a resident privately planted two additional trees. Howley said the Tree Board was granted an MSD grant, which should be available this spring, and that the board has reapplied for Tree City USA status. She said the Kentucky Forestry Department has approved the application and the board is awaiting approval from the Arbor Day Foundation.
Howley invited the commissioners to a Tree Board meeting on March 7, 2025, and said Jack Baggett from the Kentucky Forestry Department will attend. She said the city’s website will be updated with the revised tree ordinance and the list of 2024 tree recipients.
