Commissioners receive update on Napanee sidewalk work; petition to pave city streets reported

Commissioners discussed street and sidewalk matters at the Sept. 10 Brownsboro Village meeting. Ethics Administrator Dana Lindley reported that Flynn Brothers can complete the proposed work to the Napanee sidewalk.
Commissioner Maryellen Howley said she had spoken with the city attorney about Napanee sidewalk issues and that the attorney will prepare an opinion letter addressing the matter. Commissioner Brian Willis also reported on the Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services Limited Coverage Declarations, providing an update on the municipality’s insurance status.
Earlier in the meeting Commissioner Howley said she is waiting on an estimate from Flynn Brothers for broader roads and streets work and reported that residents have started a petition to pave the city streets. These items were discussed as unfinished business and informational new business; no motions or votes on paving or sidewalk contracts were recorded in the minutes for Sept. 10.
Commissioner Howley also presented a size comparison and net assessment figure for context: the City of Brownsboro Village was listed at $58,198,750.00 and the City of Druid Hills at $58,630,800.00. The commission did not take a formal vote on either the sidewalk contract or any paving expenditure during the meeting. The city attorney’s forthcoming opinion and the Flynn Brothers estimate were recorded as next steps.
