The City Commission of Brownsboro Village approved $147.77 to mail Reach Alert letters and discussed community concerns about Block Party spending at its Sept. 10 meeting, which was held at Commissioner Fay Dorval’s home.
Commissioner Maryellen Howley moved to pay $147.77 for postage to send Reach Alert letters and Commissioner Whitney Hankins seconded; the motion was approved by voice vote. The minutes record the vote as For: Commissioners Howley, Willis, Hankins and Dorval; Against: None.
Commissioner Fay Dorval reported the city will not hold a fall yard sale and said Reach Alert letters will be sent to residents, with a sign-up table to be available at the upcoming Block Party. Dorval also provided attendance numbers and cost figures from previous Block Parties while commissioners discussed resident concerns about city spending on the event. Commissioner Brian Willis reported that L4 Security will attend the Block Party and delivered L4 Security’s incident report.

The commission also noted there was no finance report and no sanitation/MSD report. The meeting concluded at 7:57 p.m.; the commission reaffirmed its schedule to meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and recorded hosts and locations for October through December.
