Brownsboro Village approves FY2026 budget, extends Rumpke contract and adopts tax ordinance

At its May 20 meeting, the Brownsboro Village City Commission approved the FY2026 budget, extended the Rumpke sanitation contract for two years, adopted Ordinance 25-4 (tax), and approved a municipal aid contract and related resolution. All votes were by unanimous voice vote.
The City Commission of Brownsboro Village met May 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. and approved several fiscal and contract items for the coming year.
Mayor Mark Joyce presented the proposed FY2026 budget and moved to adopt it as distributed; Commissioner Fay Dorval seconded. The commission approved the budget by voice vote, with Commissioners Brian Willis, Fay Dorval, Whitney Hankins, Maryellen Howley and Mayor Joyce recorded as voting in favor.
Joyce also presented an addendum to extend the village's sanitation contract with Rumpke. Joyce moved to extend the contract for two years and Commissioner Maryellen Howley seconded; the commission approved the two-year extension by unanimous voice vote.
In new business, Ordinance 25-3 (budget) and Ordinance 25-4 (tax) were read and advanced. Commissioner Brian Willis moved approval of Ordinance 25-3, seconded by Commissioner Whitney Hankins; Commissioner Maryellen Howley moved approval of Ordinance 25-4, seconded by Commissioner Brian Willis. Both ordinances passed by voice vote with unanimous support.
The commission also approved the Municipal Aid Contract for 2025–2026 after Mayor Joyce moved its adoption and Commissioner Howley seconded. Resolution 25-1 (Municipal Aid) was read and signed by Mayor Joyce and Commissioners Willis, Hankins, Dorval and Howley.
