Bromley council bans fireworks in Veterans Park, appoints telecom board member and approves housing authority resolution

Bromley City Council on Oct. 9 adopted Ordinance 9-1-24, prohibiting the use of fireworks in Bromley Veterans Park and approved two resolutions including an appointment to the Telecommunication Board.
City Attorney Kim Vocke presented the ordinance on its second reading and Council member Mike Kendall moved to accept it; Council member Gail Smith seconded. The motion passed with five votes in favor and no opposition.
Council also approved Resolution 10-1-24 to appoint Greg Recten to the Telecommunication Board. Council member Dave Radford moved the appointment and Gail Smith seconded; the motion passed 5–0.
A separate measure, Resolution 10-2-2024, pertaining to the Housing Authority of Covington and recommended by Steve Arlinghaus, was moved by Gail Smith and seconded by Dave Radford and approved unanimously.
The council took each item during its regular session and recorded the unanimous votes; no public opposition or amendments were noted during the meeting. The ordinances and resolutions will be reflected in the city’s official minutes and are effective according to the council’s standard implementation practices.
