The Osage County Commission voted to adopt a standard fence-view request form and approved scheduling a field fence view after discussing procedures and statutory payments.
Chair (speaker 1) said the form will create a clear record of who requested a fence view and noted that state statute requires checks and fee handling by the party requesting a view. "I would move to approve the Osage County fence view request form as presented," the chair said; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Staff member (speaker 4) explained the recommended process: petitioners must submit an application with the statutory filing fee and separate checks to pay the appointed fence viewers; once payments are received the county will provide notice and the viewing will proceed in the field so both sides can present surveys, deeds and other documents. He cited the statutory compensation structure for fence viewers and said the form will help create a methodical paper trail.
Jeremy Robinson (speaker 8), a property owner involved in the dispute, urged the commission to allow both parties to submit tax records, deeds and surveys and to hold the viewing in proper channels. "I've done my research," Robinson said, noting he had prepared supporting statutes and documents for the commission to consider.
The commission directed staff to circulate the finalized application form to the parties and to place a fence-view agenda item on next week's calendar to set a date and provide mailed notice to affected property owners.
No appeal, reconsideration or final appraisal decision was made at the meeting; the action created the formal application process and scheduled further steps to set the field viewing date.
