Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told Selectmen at the July 28 meeting that required training costs are creating budget pressure and that she does not see how to pay for a budget committee member to take a class this year.
She said Lobster Festival preparations are progressing, with a large parade planned and added events including a car show and cornhole on Friday night. Liscomb said she will sign paperwork for a Rural Community Development Opportunity and will work with HCPC on next steps. She also reported that newly acquired floats do not have enough flotation and that M. Young will inspect them to determine whether repairs are possible.
The minutes list no additional funding sources or amendments tied to these items; several of the updates were informational.
