Mt. Itasca land alteration: Council approved a building permit to add a well, three water lines and four hydrants on city‑owned property at Mt. Itasca to reduce the need for long hoses. The motion (moved by Councilperson Swanson, supported by Councilperson Giving) passed unanimously. Meeting materials noted Mt. Itasca Ski Hill is facing a substantial increase in insurance costs and has a fundraiser planned July 13 sponsored by Hawkinson Construction.
Itasca County Historical Society contribution: Council approved a $250 contribution to the Itasca County Historical Society as allowed by law (motion by Councilperson Swanson, supported by Councilperson Giving). The motion carried on a unanimous roll call.
Consent agenda and other business: The council had earlier approved a consent agenda that included prior minutes and claims: PU Claims sent of $25,477.81 and claims of $18,450.05. Council scheduled review of a new blight procedure for the July 13 work session and adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
