Charlestown Redevelopment Commission rejects sport-court bids, authorizes rebid with July 7 deadline

The Charlestown Redevelopment Commission on June 2 rejected all four construction bids for the Family Activities Park sport court after the city's consultant reported three bids were incomplete and the remaining bid exceeded the project budget.
Consultant Jill Saegesser said HWC's evaluation recommended rejecting the submissions; board member Chuck Deaton moved to reject all bids and authorize a rebid according to HWC's schedule, with bids due July 7, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Benita Pate seconded the motion, which passed 5-0.
Saegesser also discussed next steps for the Little League Facility Renovation Project, saying a draft RFPQ and schedule will be provided to the Commission prior to the July 7 meeting to support upcoming procurement steps (the meeting transcript uses the acronym "BoT" in connection with procurement but does not define it). The Commission did not award a construction contract at this meeting and directed staff to move forward with the rebid schedule.
