Winter Harbor selectmen approve warrants, authorize repairs to floats and dock

Winter Harbor Selectmen on Aug. 11 approved routine financial items, signed a return of warrant for a county commissioner and authorized repairs to harbor floats and a damaged dock.
The board approved the minutes of July 28 and accepted Warrants #6 (Aug. 5) and #7 (Aug. 7). The Treasurer’s Report dated Aug. 7 was approved 3-0; the minutes record a Trio-General Ledger balance of $613,251.14, a six-month certificate of deposit at $105,382.87, and bond investment totals of $3,499,504.31 (5/31/2025) and $3,522,980.90 (6/30/2025). The Tax Collector’s Report (Aug. 7) was also approved 3-0; collection rates were listed as FY25 $30,730.02 (98.75% collected) and FY24 $5,610.55 (99.74% collected). The board signed the return of warrant for the County Commissioner; the record shows it was signed but no vote tally was noted.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the board that Summer Harbor Road work is complete and that new speed-limit signs will be installed when they arrive. Liscomb also said the town’s floats need added flotation to hold required weight; she said she will order the flotation and that DC Air will pick it up. "Chris will remove the floats and return them to his property so they can be repaired," Liscomb said. The minutes note the dock was backed into and needs repair. A motion was made to have M. Young fix the floats, repair the dock and add two ladders; the motion was recorded as Approved 3-0.
The meeting record does not list a mover or seconder for the routine approvals or the repairs motion. No public objections to the repairs or the financial reports were recorded.
