Council member Andrew Bagshaw moved to amend the ordinance to extend weekend hours to 11:00 p.m. but set the allowable noise at 70 decibels at the property edge; Denny Doyle seconded the motion. In a roll-call vote, Beverly Ford voted no while Denny Doyle, Andrew Bagshaw, Ronald Coffey and Clifton Parsley voted yes. The motion carried, 4-1.
The council's action changes the local standard for Friday and Saturday nights; weekday hours were left unchanged at 10:00 p.m. The record does not specify whether the city will adopt a formal measurement procedure or which city official will enforce the decibel limit.
