City staff presented two disposition requests for council approval: (1) surplus equipment — a 2007 John Deere gator, a 2008 Yamaha golf cart, a 1988 Yamaha golf cart and a 2002 Ford F-150 crew cab — and (2) miscellaneous scrap metal including old hydrant pumps, meter lids and mower blades. The Public Works/City Administrator (Speaker 1) explained the items were replaced and no longer needed.
A motion to approve the auction sale of the equipment on GovDeals and to authorize sale of scrap metal was made and seconded; the council voted by voice and approved the dispositions. Councilors asked whether the city could use a local scrap company in Calvert City for metal sales; staff confirmed the new local scrap company could be used.
The items will be advertised for public auction and, if unsold, disposed through appropriate channels.
