Committee approves $6.99 million award for Pine View Road widening

Maloney described the work as widening Pine View Road from Shop Road to Garners Ferry Road to a three-lane configuration, and noted that signal work at American Italian Way had already been advanced as part of the project. "Palmetto Corp of Conway is determined to be the lowest responsive bidder, committing to the 4% SBE/SOB participation goal," Maloney said.
Committee members asked how many bids were received and whether the award fit within the project budget. Maloney said three bids were received and that the total project budget is $8,000,000, which staff said leaves roughly $1 million remaining in the project budget after the recommended award.
A motion to approve the award was moved and seconded and the committee approved the contract by roll-call vote; each called member recorded "Yes." The motion did not record the mover and seconder by name in the transcript.
The committee also heard a brief announcement that Administrator Brown will present a Tranham Acres groundbreaking update at the full council meeting later that evening. The committee then moved to the next agenda items.
