County authorizes CDBG applications and affirms interest in Senior Center access road funding

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on May 12 approved Resolution 2026-308 authorizing the county to file applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) PY2026 Critical Infrastructure funds to the Ohio Department of Development, with requests allowed up to $500,000 per project. The resolution further designates the board president as the county's official representative for application purposes.
Following the vote, Nikki Reese of MVPO told the board she received an inquiry from the Ohio Department of Development asking whether Fulton County wished to continue pursuing CDBG Flex funding for a Senior Center access road off E. Leggett Street. Reese said a pre-application had been submitted in July of the prior year and offered to prepare the full CDBG application if the board wanted to keep the project in play. Commissioner Jeff Rupp said the county remained interested and asked staff to proceed.
The resolution notes that approved applications will require compliance with program guidelines and assurances and that the board will provide additional information as needed. The county did not record a dollar amount for the Senior Center request in open session; Reese offered to prepare the application.
