During a May 12 Fulton County commissioners meeting, Dennis Miller urged the board to allow the county land bank to use RLF funds to pay for environmental studies at two blighted properties: the Old Wauseon Hotel and the Swanton Elks building. Miller said each assessment would cost about $8,000, for a total request of $16,000.
Commissioner Jeff Rupp moved to approve Resolution 2026-312 authorizing the RLF waiver request to the Ohio Department of Development; Commissioner R.J. Lumbrezer seconded. The resolution states the county's RLF balance at $169,726.78 and finds the projects meet the National Objective of eliminating slum and blight. The motion passed by a 2-0 vote.
The waiver will permit the Fulton County Land Bank to commission asbestos inspections and Phase I environmental assessments on the two properties; the resolution directs electronic filing of the waiver request to the Ohio Department of Development. No dissent or amendment was recorded on the floor.
