Members of the WAC met beginning at 06:36 and approved the council's budget after a brief report from Treasurer Erin. "We are looking good on our budget," Erin said, adding that after payout of current outstanding obligations — and before Make Music Day expenses are finalized — the council was looking at a remaining amount of $34,000.
The chair asked for a motion to approve the budget; members seconded and approved the measure by voice vote with no opposition recorded. The treasurer noted that make-music–related expenses had not yet been submitted and that the $34,000 figure does not reflect those costs.
The vote clears the way for current obligations to be paid out as planned. Members also discussed the treasurer's upcoming maternity leave and arrangements for short-term coverage; one member offered to be trained to review the accounts while Erin is away.
The meeting record shows the council will follow up on outstanding expense submissions from the Make Music Day event and assign someone to cover budget responsibilities during the treasurer's absence.
