Elk County’s Salary Board approved updated job descriptions and salary grades intended to modernize older county job descriptions and align duties with current practice.
Chair Fritz Lucker described the changes as primarily administrative "clean up" to bring descriptions drafted decades ago into a new format and remove obsolete language. Examples mentioned included listing a full-time CYS director and a CYS case worker supervisor with updated salary-grade notations.
Board members discussed reviewing older job descriptions in conjunction with department heads to ensure accuracy. A motion to approve the updated job descriptions was adopted by voice vote.
With no questions from the press or public, the board moved to adjourn and set its next meeting for Oct. 1, 2026, in Maryville.
