Raymore council approves sidewalk, City Hall refresh and school resource officer agreement

The Raymore City Council on July 13 approved a set of contracts and an intergovernmental SRO agreement, voting to award a sidewalk contract, fund improvements at City Hall and continue a school policing arrangement.
On unfinished business the council approved the second reading of Bill 4043, authorizing the city manager to contract for the 2026 sidewalk replacement project (City Project No. 26-503-201) with the awarded contractor for $64,725 and allowing change orders within established budget constraints. Council member Serco moved the motion, Council member Holman seconded, and the vote carried unanimously, 6–0.
The council also approved the second reading of Bill 4045 to award a City Hall refresh contract for $195,777.50. Council member Serco moved to approve and a second was recorded; the motion passed 5–1. The transcript records the tally (5 yes, 1 no) but does not identify which council member cast the lone no vote.
In new business the council approved the first reading and vote on Bill 4046, an intergovernmental agreement with the Raymore-Peculiar School District to provide School Resource Officer services. Chief Wilson told the council the contract uses the same per-day fee structure as prior years — $2.90 for a full day and $1.45 for a half day over 175 days — and that the district added an additional SRO this year. The council approved the item 6–0 after a motion by Council member Serco and a second by Council member Olman.
The consent agenda, moved and seconded by council members Serco and Olman, included approval of the June 22 meeting minutes and Resolution 26-29 accepting final payment for demolition of structures on South Adams and North Jackson; the consent motion carried unanimously, 6–0.
What’s next: staff sign and execute the awarded contracts and the city will incorporate the SRO agreement terms into its intergovernmental records. No effective dates beyond the contract language were announced during the meeting.
