Councilmember Mike Kendall, who oversees ways and means, reported that general fund revenue is about 70% of projections (approximately $266,000) while expenses stood at about 68%. He said the road fund has received about $47,000 so far. Kendall reported the city spent $5,175 on snow removal and salt during the recent heavy snow, and that the city received a $75,000 check from the state.
Kendall asked departments to submit budget proposals by April 1. The council recorded no additional budget approvals during the meeting; the report served as a status update and planning reminder.
The meeting included routine motions related to finance (payment of bills) and staff were asked to prepare purchase orders for street repairs (including replacement speed bump parts) tied to winter damage.
