She also reported that the budget includes funds for a possible survey to study a walking trail, an estimated $3,000 allocation to hire law-enforcement coverage, and $25,000 to complete work on Laurel Street.
Council member Brad Peacock asked that the town increase mowing around town. Mayor Jim Levanger suggested the town could ask homeowners whether they want town-provided lawn mowing and, if so, charge homeowners a fee for that service.
Brad Peacock moved to close the public hearing on the Adopted Budget 2027; Meliss Holloway seconded. The minutes record that "all were in favor," and the hearing adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
