The Select Board on July 13 authorized the town manager to negotiate and execute a contract with KZLA Services for design services for Pierpoint Park for an amount not to exceed $35,000, using funds the Pierpoint Park Committee has raised.
Dr. Jones, chair of the Pierpoint Park Committee, said the panel interviewed five firms and selected KZLA — a small Boston-based firm with local ties and experience working in Exeter. Town staff noted that the money to be requested to fund the contract was raised by the Pierpoint Park Committee and will be held in the Pierpoint Park Fund held by the trustees of trust funds.
Separately, the board accepted $2,700 in donations for Pierpoint Park design and construction and directed that the funds be held in the Pierpoint Park Fund and disbursed by town management or a designee for the purpose of design and construction.
The motion authorizing the manager to execute a contract not to exceed $35,000 carried on a voice vote.
