York hires Drummond Woodson for bond counsel after Bernstein Shur steps back

The Select Board voted July 13 to contract with Drummond Woodson to serve as the town's bond counsel after the town's former general counsel scaled back its bond practice.
Town Manager Peter Joseph and the finance director recommended the firm and a named attorney, saying the firm has municipal finance experience and the cost was within the expected range. "Both Wendy and I are recommending, that we go with Greg in from Drummond Woodson," Joseph said, describing his comfort with the attorney's experience in municipal finance.
Board members asked whether representing both school and town bond matters could create a conflict; staff said the engagement would be limited to issuing legal opinions and that a separate financial advisor handles nonlegal components. The motion to contract with Drummond Woodson passed with recorded assent from the five board members.
