A commissioner asked whether the salary assumptions in the budget presume that hires would start Jan. 1; Brooke said she believed that was the assumption used for budget calculations but could not guarantee exact hire dates. Another commissioner noted that having the positions in the budget would allow the district to apply for a personal protective equipment (PPE) grant once recruitment and budget adoption were in place.
No formal vote on the CFD budget occurred during this hearing; staff said they will repeat the materials at the regular business meeting and proceed with publishing and preparing state budget forms if commissioners authorize submission of the rate information to the clerk.
The commission then closed the budget hearings for the day and adjourned until the evening business meeting.
