Town staff briefed the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee on a Montgomery County street‑vacation request connected to renovation work at the county government center and said the item will appear on the council’s public hearing agenda.
Staff said the segment proposed for vacation lies adjacent to the county’s office parcel and has been used as a parking area for many years. ‘‘It’s all on their property, so they’ll get it all,’’ staff said when asked who would take ownership. The county plans significant renovations and will provide committee members with drawings and plans for review.
Committee members said the request was reasonable given prior street vacations for adjacent parcels and asked staff to supply the county’s plans; no questions were raised about public access or right‑of‑way impacts during the advisory discussion. The committee placed the item on the upcoming council hearing agenda for formal consideration.
