Council approves special-event permits, liquor licenses and routine write-offs

The Seymour City Council on June 22 approved a set of routine municipal items, voting to permit events, renew liquor licenses and write off certain debts.
Alderperson Vander Heiden moved to approve Resolution NO RE 2026-148, a special-event application for Burger Fest; Alderperson Hurkman seconded and the motion carried. Alderperson Tetzlaff moved to approve Resolution NO RE 2026-149 renewing liquor licenses for 2026–2027; Alderperson Vander Heiden seconded and the motion carried.
The council also approved financial housekeeping measures: Alderperson Schaumberg moved to approve Resolution NO RE 2026-150 to write off court debt (seconded by Alderperson Tetzlaff), and Alderperson Krull moved to approve Resolution NO RE 2026-151 to write off ambulance debt (seconded by Alderperson Vander Heiden); both motions carried.
On equipment and temporary licenses, Alderperson Tetzlaff moved to declare a Police Department Taser X26P as excess equipment (Resolution NO RE 2026-152); Alderperson Hurkman seconded and the motion carried. The council granted Temporary Class B licenses to the Seymour Fastpitch Association (RE 2026-153, moved by Tetzlaff, seconded by Hurkman) and to Home of the Hamburger (RE 2026-154, moved by Hurkman, seconded by Tetzlaff); both motions carried.
Administrator Hutchison and Mayor Greuel noted attendance at the Seymour Community Historical Society 50th anniversary on June 20. The meeting concluded when Alderperson Tetzlaff moved to adjourn; Alderperson Vander Heiden seconded and the motion carried.
