The Joint Committee of the Whole on June 22 recommended the City Council approve a special event permit for Burger Fest, approve multiple liquor licenses and grant temporary "Temp B" event licenses to the Seymour Fastpitch Association and the Home of the Hamburger.
The committee reviewed an application from the Home of the Hamburger for a Burger Fest special event permit and noted no concerns. Alderperson Vander Heiden moved to recommend council approve the permit; Alderperson Hurkman seconded and the motion carried.
Committee members then reviewed liquor license renewals and approvals. Alderperson Vander Heiden moved to recommend council approve the liquor licenses; Alderperson Schaumberg seconded and the motion carried. The meeting minutes do not record individual licensee names or a roll-call tally.
The committee also recommended council approve two temporary event ("Temp B") licenses for seasonal or one-off events: one for the Seymour Fastpitch Association and one for the Home of the Hamburger. Alderperson Hurkman moved to recommend approval of the Seymour Fastpitch Association Temp B license (second by Vander Heiden); Vander Heiden moved to recommend approval of the Home of the Hamburger Temp B license (second by Schaumberg). Both motions carried.
The committee's recommendations will be forwarded to the full City Council for final action at a future meeting.
