Klamath County commissioners approve personnel actions and a series of routine measures; Board schedules follow‑up on several items

The Board approved minutes from the previous meeting. Sue Baumgart (Human Resources) and Jeremy Morris (Public Works) secured approval for an out‑of‑class premium at the Public Works Road Shop after Commissioner John Nichols moved and Commissioner Scott DeGroot seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Steve Lewis (Sheriff's Office) obtained approval for a SO‑PA Step 4 hire after a motion by Commissioner Tim Minty and second from Commissioner Nichols; that motion passed unanimously.
On compensation policy, Vickie Noel recommended a 2% COLA for non‑represented employees by following the '737' union COLA. Commissioner DeGroot moved — and after an amendment Commissioner Nichols seconded — to apply the 737 COLA to non‑represented employees for fiscal years 2026, 2027 and 2028; the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Tim Minty moved and Commissioner Scott DeGroot seconded that the County sign a letter of support for Project Landing Pad; Commissioners Minty and DeGroot voted in favor and Commissioner Nichols abstained, and the motion passed. The meeting concluded with Title III Advisory Council interviews at the 3:30 p.m. time certain and adjournment at 3:50 p.m.
