A special meeting and site visit will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 to review a proposed land exchange involving 202 Shannondale Road, the Cloud Lake Council announced Jan. 9. Ray Pola, identified as the buyer and the owner/builder of nearby homes, has petitioned to buy Lot 10 (a town-owned parcel) in exchange for transferring his ownership interest in a water area that contains a littoral shelf at The Preserve.
Town Clerk Dorothy Gravelin told the council the property at 202 Shannondale (formerly the Newell property) has changed hands and that council members will visit the site before returning to Town Hall for discussion and adjournment. The town attorney, William P. Doney, will prepare a memorandum outlining legal details because he will not attend the special meeting.
The council did not vote on the exchange during the Jan. 9 meeting; members scheduled the special meeting to examine the site and review the attorney’s memo. No sale price or draft agreement terms were provided at the Jan. 9 session.
If the exchange proceeds, it would affect the littoral-shelf area at The Preserve and require council approval of any conveyance or easement changes. Council members did not indicate a timeline for final action; the Jan. 18 meeting is the next procedural step.
