Board approves consent agenda and several vendor and program agreements
Summary
At its July 13 meeting the Burlington School District Board approved the consent agenda (including more than $2 million in previously paid bills), authorized construction-administration services for the James Madison demolition, approved a new Infinite Campus support vendor agreement with Grant Wood AEA (one abstention), and approved an IJAG memorandum expanding grade levels and adding a program fee.
The Burlington School District Board of Directors voted on several routine and contract matters at its July 13, 2026 meeting.
Board Chair called for and the board adopted the evening’s agenda and then approved the consent agenda. Director Roger Baker moved to approve the consent agenda, which the board said included previously paid bills totaling $2,052,902.46, unpaid bills of $1,935,389.84, and gifts totaling $875. The motion passed by voice vote.
The board approved a staff recommendation to hire Klingner and Associates PC to provide construction-administration services for the demolition of the James Madison facility; staff said Klingner will perform weekly site visits and testing oversight and that the work is expected to take about 17 weeks.
The board also approved a new support agreement for the district’s Infinite Campus student information system with Grant Wood Area Education Agency (Grant Wood AEA), which replaces the district’s previous support agent (CIC). Board members discussed the automatic annual renewal clause and the district’s IT staff said they had no immediate concerns. The motion passed by voice vote with one abstention recorded.
Finally, the board approved a memorandum of understanding for the district’s IJAG program that expands participation into grades 7–8 and applies a program fee. Staff said this is the first year 7th- and 8th-grade participants will be charged a fee and that the MOU includes a $25,000 fee per program.
No roll-call tallies were read on the record; voice votes were used for the approvals and the meeting minutes record a single abstention on the Infinite Campus support agreement.
