At a brief special meeting on Nov. 15, the Scofield Town Council voted to accept Carbon County’s certification of the Nov. 4, 2025, Scofield general election results as "true and accurate," then adjourned.
The chair opened the meeting, took roll call and read the county correspondence certifying the election results. The chair said the council needed a motion to acknowledge the certification and proposed wording that the council consider the official results "to be true and accurate to the best of our knowledge." The chair moved a version of that language as the formal motion.
"I make a motion, but we accept the Scoville Town votes of 2025 to be true and accurate to the best of our knowledge," the chair said, offering the motion language recorded in the meeting.
A second was recorded and the chair called for the vote; the recording captures two "Aye" responses on the motion as read. The meeting then moved immediately to a motion to adjourn, which also received a second and two recorded "Aye" responses. The chair announced the meeting was adjourned at 10:03.
The meeting record includes a brief correction after adjournment noting the special town council meeting date as Nov. 15 on the tape. The recording does not capture individual roll-call votes beyond the two recorded "Aye" responses for the motion and for adjournment; no mover or seconder names were clearly identified on the audio. No other actions or discussion were recorded.
The council’s acceptance of Carbon County’s certification formalizes the local acknowledgment of the county’s certified results for the Nov. 4, 2025, general election. No subsequent agenda items or additional votes were taken at the session.
