Murray trustees adopt road plan revision, OK backyard chickens and approve $87,430 in claims

The Village of Murray Board of Trustees convened June 9, 2026, in the Murray Municipal Building and, with Trustee Stan Flak serving as Chairperson Pro Tem, adopted a revision to the village One and Six Year Road & Street Plan, approved a permit allowing a resident to keep six female chickens, and approved the consent agenda and claims totaling $87,430.19.
Trustee George Blessing moved to adopt Resolution 26-04, "Revision of One & Six Year Road & Street Plan for Fiscal Year 2025–2026," and Trustee Zach Schroeder seconded. The board voted unanimously among those present — Trustees Blessing, Flak, Schroeder and Bartlett — to approve the resolution; Trustee Jeff Anderson was absent. Chairperson Pro Tem Stan Flak had opened a public hearing at 7:09 p.m.; no members of the public spoke, and the hearing was closed at 7:10 p.m.
The board also approved a resident request to keep six female chickens. Trustee Lea Bartlett moved to grant the permit for Angelese Fleming of 215 E. Campbell St., Apt. #1; Trustee George Blessing seconded. Trustees Blessing, Flak, Schroeder and Bartlett voted in favor and the motion carried.
Earlier in the meeting Trustee Bartlett moved, and Trustee Zach Schroeder seconded, approval of the consent agenda, which included the May 13, 2026 regular meeting minutes, acknowledgement of receipt of the Treasurer’s Report, and approval of claims, wages and revised payroll-tax items. The minutes list itemized invoices and payrolls, including payments to vendors such as Beaver Lake Association ($6,586.15), CCRW #1 water ($6,116.25), and a loan payment to NDWEE-Fiscal Services ($49,597.10), producing a Claims Total of $87,430.19.
Shelli S. Hayes, Village Clerk, certified the minutes and attested that notice of the meeting had been posted in three public places on May 27, 2026, and that the agenda was kept current and available for public inspection. With no further business, Chair Pro Tem Flak adjourned the meeting at 7:11 p.m.
Actions taken at the meeting were procedural and administrative; no further hearings or votes were scheduled in the minutes.
