School officials discuss expanding dual‑credit and CTE crediting through Center for Innovation

District officials and board members on the Northern Cass School Board discussed plans to expand dual‑credit and career‑technical education opportunities through the Center for Innovation.

An administrator described a recent meeting with North Dakota State College of Science leadership and said the college’s interim president signaled she would support allowing some classes at the center that do not carry college credit. The administrator said the district will pursue a waiver so students taking heavy‑equipment or introductory agriculture courses could also earn a math or English credit, allowing students to "get 2 credits at 1 time." The administrator added the change would make it easier for students who currently must travel to receive both technical instruction and their related academic credit.
