Mayor Jim Jess told the commission he would "be chairing this meeting briefly before until we can elect a new chairman," then asked the three commissioners to discuss and nominate among themselves. After nominations, Jess called for a voice vote and declared Scott Hoffman chairman following the affirmative responses.
The vote was taken by voice; the presiding officer announced the result and congratulated Hoffman on his election. The commission then moved on to other business. The meeting adjourned after brief closing remarks.
