Public works committee forwards updated bylaws to city council

A committee member presented the packet of redlined changes and told colleagues that the edits add a temporary-chair provision allowing that chair to sign minutes and committee documents when the chair is absent, add language on recordings and record retention, and remove language specifying a one-year term. "If everything looks good to you, then what will happen is all the committees that have approved their committee bylaws ... will end up going to council for their final approval," the committee member said.
Committee Chair moved the bylaws to the council for approval and the motion passed on a voice vote. The presenter noted that meeting scheduling language was unchanged: the committee will continue to meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. The committee did not take a separate recorded roll-call vote; a voice "aye" carried the motion.
The bylaws now proceed to the full city council for the council's final action. No council vote or date for council consideration was reported during the meeting.
