Maria Saluz, who said she lived at 7718 Windsor Drive, testified she operated the residence's camera system and reviewed the videos offered by the state. On direct, Saluz described the layout of the property and explained that an additional small room in the back had been occupied by another tenant. She testified she and family members drove to Houston the morning of Feb. 16, 2023, and that the cameras recorded their departure and activity before they returned. When the state displayed State's exhibit 76 on the courtroom monitor, Saluz identified people in the footage and noted that one person later moved the cameras.
Defense counsel asked limited questions; the court admitted State's exhibits 76 and 77 without objection. The testimony and footage were used to establish who lived at the address, the camera locations and the video's chain — that the homeowner watched the exhibits and signed them as fair copies of her system's recordings.
