Platte County council approves routine business, denies corner-lot building permit

On a substantive permitting item, Kelly Jones moved to deny a building permit for Tipsword because the lot is on a corner and the council determined the required setback is 26 feet; Jeston Cundall seconded and the motion carried. The minutes note the applicant may pursue a variance to address the setback requirement.
The council also authorized financial accounts and credit cards at Platte Valley Bank. Kelly Jones moved to open three accounts — Benevolent Fund, Economic Development and Building Infrastructure — with signatures from Mayor Susan Juschka, Mayor Pro Tem Heather Schoning and Town Clerk Kelsey Crabtree; the motion passed unanimously. Jones also moved to open credit cards for Mayor Susan Juschka, Public Works Director Steve Eller and Town Clerk Kelsey Crabtree; that motion likewise passed.
Other items on the consent-style docket were handled without extended discussion. The meeting adjourned after unanimous approval of a motion to close.
