Glendo council approves routine items, places two claims on hold and notes community events

The Town of Glendo council held a brief meeting Aug. 14 and approved routine agenda and finance items. Council member Heather Schoning moved to approve the meeting agenda; Kelly Jones seconded and the minutes record the vote as "all in favor." Kelly Jones moved to approve the July regular and special meeting minutes with a correction to Heather Schoning’s name; Jeston Cundall seconded and the minutes record Heather Schoning as abstaining on the July regular meeting minutes because she was not present. The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion from Kelly Jones, seconded by Jeston Cundall.
On claims, the council decided to place payments to the VFW and the National League of Cities on hold pending further research; Heather Schoning moved and Kelly Jones seconded and minutes record "all in favor." The meeting minutes do not list individual roll‑call 'yes' votes for these motions beyond the recorded abstention noted for the July minutes.
During commission reports the council also heard brief community updates: Kelly Jones said she will oversee airport, park and cemetery duties and requested volunteers and ideas for the Fly‑In scheduled Sept. 7–8; Mayor Susan Juschka reminded attendees of the Fly‑In and an EMS golf tournament on Sept. 14; Jay Collins announced a chili cook‑off; and EMT Michelle Wright described a marina auction and dinner fundraiser and said donations may be made at the marina or to her or Christina. Heather Schoning moved to adjourn and Kelly Jones seconded; minutes record "all in favor."
