Council hears water‑system updates; resident reports low pressure and meter issues

Town of Glendo council members on Aug. 14 discussed several water‑system and meter issues, including preparation for required lead and copper reports due in October and long‑standing meter problems that staff said have caused freezing.
Council member Heather Schoning, newly assigned to Water and Sewer, said she met with staff and is "ahead of the game a little" on lead and copper reporting and is coordinating line flushing with Badger. She also told the council that meters have been freezing in town for the past five years and that staff are working to replace problem units.
Resident Norbert Schultz told the council his property at 210 S Warren "only has half pressure prior to line replacement" and asked that his meter be lowered 6 inches. Public Works Director Steve Eller and engineer Dave Coffey said they will address Schultz’s service issue. Eller also reported that crews are replacing eight meters and repairing multiple leaks.
The council did not take formal policy action; staff follow‑up was directed by agreement in the meeting record.
