Board directs president to sign temporary facility‑use agreement with Big Bear Fire Authority

General Manager Glenn Jacklin told the board that the Big Bear Fire Authority requires temporary access to the district’s Paradise Yard to permit Fire Authority personnel to perform certain administrative functions until both agencies adopt a ratified Memorandum of Understanding. Jacklin described key terms the draft agreement addresses, including general liability insurance and additionally insured documentation, indemnification of the district, requirements for security and supervision during use, a prohibition on public access to the yard, and scheduling restrictions.
Board members asked questions and staff responded. After public comment, the Board voted to direct President John Russo to sign the Use of Facility agreement; the motion passed unanimously.
The Board’s action authorizes short‑term access pending formal MOU adoption by both agencies. The Use of Facility agreement as described in the minutes is limited to the period when BBFA uses the facility (the minutes state expectations for May 13, 2025) and includes standard insurance and indemnity provisions.
