Appointments: The council appointed Kalena (transcribed Kalina/Killeen variants) James and Nate Kroeger to the arts commission. Kroeger introduced himself and said he moved to Mount Rainier in 2021 and wants to help connect local history and arts. The appointments were moved, seconded and approved without objection.
Administrative resolutions: Valerie read three resolutions in separate second-reading votes: • Resolution 05‑2025, appointing the city’s resident agent (the city manager was named in the resolution); the council adopted the resolution 5‑0 by roll call. • Resolution 06‑2025, designating the city clerk, Melissa Sam, as the Public Information Act (PIA) representative and listing contact information; adopted 5‑0. • Resolution 08‑2025, proclaiming Nov. 14 as Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day in Mount Rainier; adopted 5‑0.
Minutes: The council also voted 5‑0 to approve minutes from June 17, June 19 and Sept. 2, 2025.
