Lubbock council confirms dozens of board appointments and approves municipal services agreement to pursue annexation of 7.92 acres

The Lubbock City Council on July 14 approved the recommended third‑quarter appointments to multiple city boards and commissions and authorized a municipal services agreement to pursue annexation of a 7.92‑acre tract adjacent to the northern city limits.
City Secretary Courtney Paz read the slate of recommended reappointments and replacements for advisory bodies and boards (terms starting around Sept. 1), including candidates for the Appointments Advisory Board, Audit & Investment Committee, Building Board of Appeals, Citizens Traffic Commission, Civic Lubbock Inc., Lubbock Water Advisory Commission, StarCare Board of Trustees and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. "I will go over our 3rd quarter boards... and I'll be happy to answer any questions," Courtney Paz said.
Council moved, seconded and voted to approve the appointments unanimously.
On item 6.2, Director of Planning Miss Sager briefed the council on a municipal services agreement to seek annexation of a 7.92‑acre tract located south of Drew Street and west of Interstate 27. Miss Sager said that if the resolution authorizing the agreement is approved, staff will bring an ordinance proposing formal annexation to the council at the next meeting.
Council approved the municipal services agreement; the mayor announced the motion passed. Miss Sager will return with the annexation ordinance for further council action.
The meeting concluded after the council completed its agenda and the mayor adjourned.
