Board members heard one nearby landowner ask technical questions (noise, chemicals) and staff invited the landowner to tour the facility to address concerns. Planning and zoning and staff previously reviewed the request; council ultimately approved the rezoning (Bill 2026‑13) after the public hearing and vote, assigning ordinance 31‑77.
Council discussion emphasized balancing industrial growth with neighbor concerns and ensuring proper review of environmental and traffic impacts in follow‑up permits and site plans. The rezoning vote clears a key local regulatory step for the company to pursue planned expansion.
