Smiths Grove suspends fines for 121 Sunset Avenue; two-year probationary period ordered

Commissioner Jennifer Cartwright reported that the owner of 121 Sunset Avenue has brought the property into compliance with city ordinance. The Smiths Grove City Commission voted 5-0 to suspend the fines and place the property on a two-year probationary period.
Commissioner Cartwright moved to suspend fines; Commissioner Bob Buehl seconded the motion. Police Chief Jason Franks will notify the property owner that fines are suspended conditioned on no further violations during the two-year probation.
City Attorney Hamp Moore separately noted that a distinct property at 515 Main Street has a pending survey and will appear on the City-County Planning Commission’s September agenda.
